I missed most of the Ookla the Mok concert due to chatting with Wnedy and then hauling my laundry bin filled with costumes from my closet, either made from or are regular garmets. There were more people on the panel then in the audience it seemed, and it wasn't what I was expectiong...but I don't think we bored them all to death either. after that was the firefly panel. Few people got the river outfit but then I wasn't "acting the part" which was good for the participants. River is Crazzzzeeey. But so much fun to play. Yes I'm a Drama Queen. Afterwards we had the dead dog which was good but I couldn't stay to long. I ended up leaving and getting food on the way to gaming. Gaming ended up being cancelled due to one memeber being in cedar point :( so we talked and I ended up crashing on Brian's couch. We rescheduled Gaming for the next day and much fun was had by all
Now I just need a vacation to recover from my weekend!

I think audience surpassed panel... if you count all the relatives / friends of the panel. And I wasn't bored; since that's how I normally make my costumes (in addition to buying from thrift stores which then go into the pile for future use) I was looking forward to that panel even before [livejournal.com profile] ladynero mentioned you were on it. :)

This was my first time on a panel so I wasn't sure what to expect. I felt like it was more story telling then actually getting into converting costumes. But I do tend to build things up to much, see "Drama Queen" above. :) I'm glad you liked it.
Interested in coming down to Columbus for Serenity?

Panels work in lots of mysterious ways. Other panels might end up quite different from that one. I think a lot of the stories helped - like what household items, spare parts, or junk can be made into a costume. But, I guess there could have been more detailed construction techniques.

Was this also your first Marcon?

I don't even know what city I'll be living in come September so I don't think I can make any plans quite yet. ;) I did notice that today is Jewel Staite's birthday. :) At 9:00pm each Friday night in fall 2002, some of would come onto the #geeks channel of irc.cwru and go "Mmmm, Kaylee." ;)

lol ye gods! That's funny. a freind of mine is cosplaying Kaylee and she is going to look great for the preimier. She has similar features.

This wasn't my first Marcon, I went 2 years ago but it's the first time I'm particiapted in a con.

Still a bit new to the scene... We shall see how next year goes.

This was my... seventh? yeah, seventh Marcon. But only second year as a panelist. I did four panels last year. Two I was the only peson on - which really helps shape the panel the way you want to, heh. They were panels I proposed too - "Science Fiction Chess Variants" and "Historical Chess Variants". The first had a pretty big crowd too.

Some panels are teaching panels - and those can include panels where the panelists have to each and those were everyone in the room talks. There are also discussion panels where often everyone in the room discusses. By everyone... I mean anyone can and some actually speak up. There are other types too.

I just loaned my housemate the first Babylon 5 DVD - he hasn't seen much of it yet. I do keep loaning out Firefly... I've seen the pilot many, many times now. So far everyone who has seen it on DVD has liked it. There were even (at least) two webcomics that did a reaction.
