Well maybe not but it's due! Josh and I went out for his birthday last night and afterwards I got my sewing area cleaned! I'm even getting a dresser, hopefully next tuesday to store my ever growing stash of fabrics and we are going to move the kitchen table out so I can use the space for even more sewing. :) yea! Now I just need to get me, Josh, a roll of saran wrap and several rolls of ducktape in one room to make my duct tape double. I'm threatening to do him as well so I can start drafting him a doublet. He will NOT stay still long enough to drape and I'm still a tetchy about flat drafting it. He's a bit funny shapped. The good news is that once I have my doub;t I can fix the fit issues on my first dress a bit better then hauling on the whole rig (shirt, hoop, corset underskirt, overskirt, bum roll, and bodice. The sleeves have been interesting. I'm thinking about getting him to make doubles of my arms and riging a dowl rod/ pipe thing to click them into place. Does anyone know if anyone has actually done something like this? I was thinking arms bent and away from the body. Oh well I will already have the duct tape.
Speaking of odd questions, I've been pricing stuff for my wedding gown. Does anyone know how well silk would take a dye? I want a nice deep blue with green undertones. Any recomendations besides RIT? One online store has a kelly green silk satin that isn't to shiny and an ivory silk satin dupioni. Maybe it would be easier to over dye the green....then the leftovers could line the mantel...hrmmmm.
:) My wedding gown will not be historicly acurate, but I will look good! Besides half my guests will probably be wearing elf ears! ;)

We have to run it 3-5 time to dry things, even socks! The washing washing machine is currently fixing my peachy linen which I'm going to interline with some white cotton to make it less strechy. The end result will be a psudo civil war corset ala simplicity with pleanty of my help and modifications. I'm not using springsteel . Instead I plan on using the heavy duty cable ties. Which reminds me, I need to look into hoopsteel or something sturdier to use for my farthingale.
I'm hoping my first farthingale attempt can be substituted for the simplicity hoopskirt. It was a bit too full really and the gown I'm hoping to make will be much lighter then my 'bethan middles. I have some really neat looking black satin with cotton stripes. It's a woven pattern, and though the cotton is beige it looks gray from a distance. I'm not sure yet how I'm going to make the gown...but that will come after the under pinnings.
