went back to work yesterday... about 5 pm the world stopped spinning. It's cold and rainy out and I just want all the holiday plans to go away. I want to stay home and light my tree up and watch holiday movies and pretend that my family isn't frustrating, confrontational or clueless. I don't want to face them alone, Steve and Matt will try to practice their "ninja" crap on me. That will end badly at some point. Mom and Dad will snip and Matty will call me fat, if Dad doesn't beat him to it. I'd rather spend the day with the cats.
Things aren't great in 'Nise land. Some of it may be post event letdown and the sick part but I'm feeling really down. Lots of reasons. I'm not getting into all of them. If you really want to know ask. Till then I am going to hide in my box with the cats.

You know, there is a safe and fun and inviting warm house in Raleigh, NC where there are people who would like nothing more than to treat you to some southern hospitality. We have plenty of room and I'll be off a few days if you want to consider coming down. Remember, part of House Eye Candy is here too! :)

Lol... it's tempting. My dad is leaving the contry for 2 years so I feel like I have to be there. I keep trying not to cut the last ties.... but I want to, very selfishly. I don't think I will ever understand family very well.

I'm sorry your family is like that. I battle with myself every holiday whether I want to put myself through visiting my family or not. I feel I have to because they are my family, but I honestly might as well be from a different world w/ how we are. And let me be the first to comment on here that you are not fat, no matter what some of the men in your family say. People are just cruel and unless you're perfect in their eyes, they'll just try to tear you down as much as they can. I, personally, can not wait until the holidays are over this year. I spend half the time crying and the other half happy (Christmas was one of my fav holidays apart from Halloween). Now I just can't wait for it to be over. Get some rest, breath and know that it will be all over in just 2 weeks. I'd say that you'd be welcome at our Christmas dinner, but if you don't want drama, I'd stay far, far away. :) *hugs* I love you 'nise. See, you are loved. ;) :)

Yes, see above with the "Ninja training" He starts throwing joint locks and then it becomes an actual fight leading to hostipital stays and broken bones. I just need to verbally find the right defense.
