I am considering a new video game. :-) I played City of Heros for a long time... but I haven't played it much anymore because the people I played with weren't usualy on when I could play. I know we have a lot of WOWers here...
My questions:

Are the controls similar? I suck at video games, although I didn't do terrible at COH. I play casually so don't want something where if I take a week or a month off it will make a huge difference.
Do you play in groups or are there groups? If so are their more support characters? I played an empath defender. I enjoyed standing back and buffing the group. Is there something like that? That I was good at.
Can you move pretty easy in it? I have a horrible habbit on COH of getting stuck in corners.
Are people generally nice or showing you are new like blood in the shark tank?
If not what other MMORGs are there?
I know I want to try the firefly one once it comes out but other then that no idea.

I had a very easy transition from CoH/CoV to WoW. The buttons for movement are similar. If you want to try it, I have a number of low level toons I would be willing to run with you. I also have access to a ventrillo server.

I took three months and came back, and was still able to play.

Fire away with questions.

BTW: Windrunner is the realm I am on, though I'll be likely transferring my 70 soon. HAve a guild with a lot of cool people.

Well I've taken the plunge. I started a preist on windrunner. Still fuzzy on how to chat with people though. Among other things.

I play every once in a while. I would have to say that WOW is currently the best MMORPG on the market. The quests blow COH's plotlines away, seriously.

The controls are actually a little easier than COH. The interface is beautiful, and easy to get.

As far as support characters go, priests and shamans are a sure bet. Priests are a little more group-dependant than shamans, but both can be fun.

Movement is easy. You can't fly under your own power though (Until you get up there in level and find the right areas and mounts) so get used to hoofing it.

People are... Well, it's a mixed bag. Avoid the PvP realms, but for the most part you'll find nice people in every realm.

I'm on Sentinels, though I only play when the mood strikes me.

I have toons of all levels on Kirin Tor. I have one character on Perenolde but I don't play that realm much since I moved my level 70 to Kirin Tor. Most of the NERO folks are on Kirin Tor also...Tim, Squibb, Jillian, Doug, Dave Marker, Foster use to be but has taken a break. Also, some of them have created pvp horde characters on Andorhal. I haven't jumped there yet because I'm not big on pvp.
