as serious as he ever is.... he so rarely breaks character. He might get on the democratic ticket... the cost is about 2500, but the republican party charges 35,000 to get on. It depends on how long his studio funds him.
I think he's stay in.... do I think he is serious about winning.... not at all, but every minute he is in is more publicity for the show. The only way I think he would drop out is if it started to look like he might actually win. ;-)
Oh, I don't disagree about him being unserious about winning. I just figure, since his show is entirely hilarious parody, that he'd also parodize those individuals who joined and dropped out of the race *way* back when.
But maybe you're right and he'll stay all the way 'til the election. It'd definitely be interesting if he won S Carolina, the only one he's actually running in, and more interesting still if he won in more than just there...
Pity most people only vote for who they think will win, rather than voting for whom they agree most. If the latter, Colbert would find himself quite surprised Election Day.
Luckily, I'm sure the Colbert Nation will ensure that Wikipedia proclaims him as winning the election on November 4, and (as Colbert said) Wikipedia shapes reality.

Not just:
"Eh, I guess he's not as bad as the others."
