So Galavast....
Jun. 27th, 2006 07:34 pmthis time it didn't kill an knee or ankle it took me in the throat. I spent yesterday alternating between being spacy and sleepy (driving was fun) and wanting to get up and do things and not having the energy. But on to the fun stuff.
We arrived late to Gally, my fault, and it took about 2 hours for me to get unloaded, checked in, in costume and in makeup. :-( The contacts held up ok during the weekend, I lost one putting them in but I came prepared. I ended up wearing entirely new Alessandra clothing this game which was a lot of fun. Yay bright orange! The first part of the evening was on the dull side as Aless ended up not knowing anyone in town. There was some good hostilities with Cederlock though and between that and the long and late trip Aless was in a foul mood most of the event. I worked off my bad week though. :-D
Saturday started off slow again. It didn't stay slow. In the afternoon the Baron asked me to go out adventuring with him at Loth's recommendation and stories about the panthergast fight. Wow the novel concept of having a reputation. It ended up being a lot of go here and talk to this person, then we gathered dark earth to use as components and that led to a lot
of fighting undead. (on a side note the NPC's were awesome this event. Tireless (damn them all!) great roleplay and the fear factor was back!).
I came back with 2 spells (that became a theme this game) and then ogres attacked the tavern. Aless's first reaction was whatever. When Alistar came running back to say the group of lower level people with him needed more help she figured she would take down a couple and hang back and support. Umm no. When she got to the top of the stairs going down the group of people Alistar had been with had already been captured. Aless took charge quickly and tried to lure them up to the top to split their numbers. She was partial successful, and I was told fairly scary while doing it. By then 6 had hit and we rememmed quickly. The group up top was taken out quickly and we rushed down the back to try and cut off a small escaping group. That turned into disaster. The shaman had Dalumus and Alistar, Aless and Kinsley tried to take him out... Magic delivered sucks.
I ended up going down about 4 times trying to take him down. And failed. We met up with a few more people but by then the ogres had barricaded themselves in the tavern with their prisoners. It took most of the town to pull them out and still some of the big hitters went down a lot.
Between that and some kobolds and Gargoyle attacks topside that left me with about 2 spells again. Must pick up some scroll making and the like. Then people started pulling away and hitting the major mods of the night.
I got pulled into the dream one where we were supposed to have 13 people (I think we had 12) and ended up on one of the more amusing creepy mods I have seen. About half the party made it into the house whose door was shaped like a giant mouth. Then it shut leaving the other half outside to find it's teeth. That took a while as we had minimal light and there were
fake teeth scattered with the real. Alessandra managed to find both the forget it well and forget it not "teeth" and forgot most of why they went there. And she has this strange memory of the Vargus tavern where she has never been. Being a logical minded person sudden holes in her memory bothered her... a lot. The mod was a lot of fun once we got in. Obnoxious fun house music played in the background and clown like zombies poured out
of the corners and scared the crap out of me. Alistar was intoxicated from an earlier incident with the teeth and Alessandra ended up hauling him along mutter darkly about idiots under her breath. There was a few puzzles and traps and dancing zombies. Over all Aless ended up in the back ground a lot. But I got about 7 pages of text on dreams and interpretations that she is adding to her library.
Then there was the magic mods where we saved all of the magic from being drained away. Fire portals rock when they are rep'ed by real fire! Then we were protecting the tree of life from something and Aless ended up with someone else's cloak imprisoned around it to protect it. It worked, I was useful, and protected. Always a good time. After that battle I
crashed and woke up early enough the next morning to get a shower.
Overall a very fun weekend, much less stressed then I was last week.
Aless is getting up to her eyeballs in politics which is fun as long as no one takes them oog which so far hasn't happened. And I was offered a position in Galavast... I think I will be accepting it. :-)
