Max is settling in well...
Mar. 21st, 2005 08:22 amHe cried last night after we went to bed because right now we are not letting him in our room unsupervised. Not until we cat proof it. I slept rather restlessly anyways so I went downstairs and curled up on the couch. After a few minutes he settled in with me, though he is a pillow hog! Max is very gentle. He has his claws stil (we are going to get him declawed per our apartment's lease)but he is very good about not extending them even while kneading or batting at your hand. He's still skittish, the morning dump trucks sent him hidding under the chair but he is an attention slut and will stop at nothing to get you to pet him. I already taught him a horrible game, he tracks the mouse pointer on the computer screen and tries to catch it. He finially used the litter box to my releif, but he still won't touch the wet food. I'll try a new brand tonight.
Blair come home tonight and we are getting things ready. I'm hopeing that this will be realitivly peaceful but Blair is probably going to be out of it and more then a little sleepy. If they don't get along well, we'll isolate Blair for a bit until he feels better. My bigest fear is that Max will go into hiding when Blair gets here. They are both such sweet and loving kitties, I hope that doesn't happen. I think essentially they will get along eventually though. They are close in age and well matched in temperment. It will just take time.
I should have pictures tonight but if you want to see some of Blair you can follow this link.http://www.cahs-pets.org/adoption/cats/cats.asp He is the sixth one down.
