On to the fabric....
Sep. 24th, 2004 09:18 pmSo I'm sewing again. Keeps me sane. I finished the pants for the maniquin last week and now I am just fiddlig with my own stuff (well one more commision but that is it).
I bought fabric. Nice fabric!
Inventory: Navy thick waled corderoy that will someday become a tudor gown.
A piece of upholstry fabric in a neat gold geometric design for the forepart.
A brown/black satin backed fabric for the jacket for the civil war gown.
14 yards of off white homespun cotten for shirts and things.
A bit of black fleese velor for a poncho.
Purple flanel to line something.
Assorted odds and ends of fabric.
In sewing news the doublet is progressing. The colar is assembled and needs to be attached. The shoulder rolls are done and getting trimed right now. The skirting needs to be attached and the sleeves need hemed and trimed and attached. Both sets. Plus I want to add to the trim on the front. Not too much more to add! blah. And the skirt needs cut and the underskir needs cut and I need to find my bum roll.
The hat is done though. If I ever get a photobook thingie I'll post the pictures. It's got feathers and a fluer de lis button as the center of a cockade. The next time I do a high brim hath though I'm working the brim differently. The cover didn't sit perfectly straight. Onward and over back the trim work.
